A Well Made OST is Better than 10 Singles - How Yoon Mirae Won G-Dragon

Yoon Mirae's OST for the drama "The Master's Sun" has occupied the number 1 spot on music charts for a while now, and is even pushing through other leading singer's songs.

On August 28 Yoon Mirae released an OST for "The Master's Sun" titled "Touch Love," which is even now taking the number 1 spot on various music charts. It's even more amazing that she has left behind a lot of leading idol groups and singers, and has continued to stand in that spot.

Likewise, SISTAR's Hyorin also sang an OST for the same drama, which is called "Drive Me Crazy." This bittersweet song is currently occupying top spots on music charts as well. Yoon Mirae's "Touch Love" and Hyorin's "Drive Me Crazy" are currently on major music site Melon's chart at number 1 and number 2.

These two OSTs are increasing in popularity thanks in part to So Ji Sub and Gong Hyo Jin's growing chemistry. Even with G-Dragon's new song release, "Touch love" still kept at the top of Melon charts. Maybe it's because So Ji Sub and Gong Hyo Jin had their first kiss scene in the drama the day before.

Thus, a well-made OST can become popular through the drama, and offer all kinds of different visuals through the various scenes in the drama - even more so than music videos.

According to an agency rep, "OSTs cost much less to produce than idol or other singer's album production costs. So even if we were to say that OSTs and singles are similar in music chart ranks, you should consider than the cost of production is significantly lower for OSTs. Therefore, from a financial standpoint, an OST will be much more profitable for everyone all around."
