Sir Patrick Stewart, most famous for playing the Captain Jean-Luc Picard on the Starship Enterprise, got married to girlfriend Sunny Ozell over the weekend...and Sir Ian McKellen married the two.

The 73-year-old Star Trek and X-Men star was married by Sir Ian McKelen, most famous for his role as Gandalf the Grey in Lord of the Rings.

It was a star-studded wedding when both a wizard and an astronaut got together to help tie the knot. So obviously, a ball pit was needed.

Sir Patrick Stewart posted a simple, hilarious photo of himself and new wife Sunny Ozell in a ball pit. It was captioned 'Yes, married'

Sir Patrick Stewart and his wife met five years ago while performing McBeth in New York; Sunny will be his third marriage. He has two children from his previous marriages.

Sir Ian who plays villain Magneto in X-Men, posted a snap on his official Facebook page of himself holding up a black T-shirt with 'Minister' written on it.

And it's not his first time the 74-year-old has played the role-he has already married another couple.

''I've done it once before, with two guys having a civil partnership. I was crying my eyes out," he told press.

''I don't know [if it's legal]. But in Massachusetts, or in the middle of America somewhere, you get a friend along, and I read out the words, and Sunny and Patrick will then be married.''
