'How I Met Your Mother' Season 9 Premiere Preview: 9 Hints About Episode 1 & 2 That Are Sure To Get You Even More Excited For The Robin And Barney Wedding

"How I Met Your Mother" season 9 premieres in less than two weeks, and we've collected a few premiere preview hints about what to expect from episode 1 and 2, which will feature in the hour-long special premiere of season 9.

Here are 9 preview hints about the premiere of "How I Met Your Mother," from episode 1 ("The Locket") and episode 2 ("Coming Back"). These hints are via HuffPost TV:

  1. The premiere of "How I Met Your Mother" begins 55 hours before the wedding, which gives plenty of time for Marshall (Jason Segel) to bestow the remaining slaps on Barney, and for Lily (Alyson Hannigan) to get in more than one tackle.

  2. Marshall's eventful journey to the wedding begins with a "potentially damning" Facebook photo. We've all been there, Marshall.

  3. Lily is the first member of the gang to meet "the mother" (Cristin Milioti), and their encounter involves physical violence a la Lily-style.

  4. At Comic-Con, "HIMYM" creator Craig Thomas told HuffPost TV that there was a "Game of Thrones" reference in the premiere of season 9 of "How I Met Your Mother." According to the website, the reference made the cut, and is described as "hilarious, and says a lot about Barney's personality."

  5. The Mother and Ted have a lot in common, and Milioti proves to be right when she called her character "nerdy."

  6. "How I Met Your Mother" takes a trip through time, to Moscow in 1807 to be exact, in order to learn the origins of the Stinson Curse. HuffPost TV says this includes "Russian accents, a shirtless carriage driver and an awesome guitar solo."

  7. Barney switches up his "Legendary" catchphrase in honor of the wedding, and it's sure to cue some "aww"s from fans.

  8. Roger Bart plays "the world's most sympathetic desk clerk," and Ted is the focus of his "pity" -- we aren't surprised.

  9. Fans can also expect to hear "a very different version of the 'Bang Bang' song," according to HuffPost TV.

Tune in to the special one-hour season nine premiere of "How I Met Your Mother" on Monday, September 23 on CBS.
