Line Messenger App: App Game Downloads Have Reached 200 Million, Earned $132M In Q2

The Line Messenger app is an application launched by Korean firm Naver which aims to provide a new messaging experience to its users by offering several free emoticons, stickers, and games which they can play while chatting.

And for the past several weeks, the Japanese company has had vast success when it comes to download activations and game purchases. According to Line's own blog, the company has already surpassed 200 million downloads for its messaging app games. If you look at it from a certain perspective, it seems a normal number, but if you consider the fact that Line has over 230 million active users, then that's quite impressive.

It only means more than 80 percent of its current users have already downloaded in-app games which are 'plugged in' to the actual Line messenger application.

Line currently offers more than 30 in-app games with titles such as Line Pop, Line Bubble, and Line Play, all available in both iOS and Android.

The announcement also confirmed the success of the Japanese company in its transition from a messaging app, into a whole new platform where its users can interact not just through conversations, but games as well.

As a result, the company has reportedly booked more than $132 million in revenue in the Q2 of this year.
