CNBLUE Japanese Single "Where You Are" Close to Selling 100,000 Copies

CNBLUE has been writing their own history of setting records of their own. Their 2nd major Japanese single “Where You Are” sold 60,000 copies in the first week and topped Oricon Singles Chart in the week of February 13.

The single chart hasn’t been topped by a foreign band in 41 years, last record was by a Canadian rock band Mashmakhan with their single “As The Years Go By.” The group is the fourth Korean male artist to have topped the Oricon Singles Chart following TVXQ, Jaejoong & Yoochun (from TVXQ), and Jang Geun Suk.

This it-self is quite an accomplishment the group is more excited about the number of album copies they have sold. As of February 7, the single album “Where You Are” sold over 60,000 copies. Only the biggest hit artists in Japan sell over 100,000 copies however the group has previously accomplished this feat last October with their first single, ‘In My Head.”

FNC Entertainment shared, “We received over 100,000 order for their new album before it’s release and with that we knew CNBLUE’s position in the Japanese music market had shifted.”

CNBLUE will be kicking off their ‘Fan Club Live Tour’ in Japan on February 13.
