GTA V Online To Introduce 'Pay2Win' Scheme? Definitely A Bad Idea

Since GTA V launched on current-gen consoles a week ago, it has racked up billions of dollars in revenue. But it seems Rockstar is still looking to get more from its subcribers with the launch of GTA V Online.

According to a Reddit user, he has seen a particular file that shows 'cash cards' ranging from $100,000 to $1,250,000, which could mean the game could provide microtransactions in order to purchase stronger weapons and equipment.

Moreover, the file also indicated the accompanying text to these 'cash cards' which says "Cash is king in this town".

"Solve your money problems and help get what you want across Los Santos and Blaine County with the purchase of cash packs for Grand Theft Auto Online," according to the description. "All purchased cash is automatically deposited into your character's bank account. Spend wisely, cash therapy is fleeting."

While Rockstar has not confirmed the rumor, this could mean a real huge blow for players. Since they have already purchased the game in full, the option for microtransactions to get premium gear would be a huge dilemma. For some who can afford to shell out more cash, this may not be a problem, but for everyone else who saved up just to make their pre-orders, the company is not doing them any good service.

On the one hand, if the alleged in-game transactions would only be limited to cool-looking gear and other conveniences, it may not be too bad. But if these purchases would be highly recommended in order to finish missions and win battles with other players un Multiplayer mode, then Rockstar will have a problem.

Let us just hope this Reddit user is just paranoid, and that all his claims are wrong.
