The "How I Met Your Mother" season 9 premiere aired on CBS Monday night. We've put together some important spoilers, alerting you on what to expect in the next 22 episodes in season 9, the final season of "How I Met Your Mother," as reported by PolicyMic.com.

1. Season 9 of "How I Met Your Mother" will span 56 hours before Barney and Robin's wedding, and will tie up many loose ends within the show, PolicyMic.com reports. Co-creator Carter Bays promised that the season will also include flashbacks, to show "things from 10 years ago, from five years ago, two years ago, two years in the future, 10 years in the future."

2. This season will explore "The Mother," aka Ted Mosby's wife. According to Bays, in this season, "we get to tell all the stories about [the mother] we want to tell. We get to get to know her and explore that part of the show."

3. Each character will encounter the mother separately. Ted will be the last of our favorite characters to meet The Mother.

4. The first three episodes will explore the quest for Robin's "something old" locket.

5. When Ted meets his future wife, the relationship between Ted and his ex-girlfriend Robin is likely to be examined, as well as any lingering feelings he may still have for Robin.

6. Robin and Barney's families will be introduced and interact before the wedding - we're sure this will make for some hilarious in-laws scenes.

7. The issue of Marshall's potential new judgeship position will become a dilemma for Marshall and Lily and their baby son Marvin.
