Kurt Russell Joins 'Fast and Furious 7'; Snake Plissken Dabbles Auto Repair, They’re Going to Need It

Kurt Russell, who started as a child star in Disney and on "Gilligan's Island" and went on to some of the most iconic roles, is joining the action film franchise “Fast and Furious 7.”

MTV.com reported that Kurt Russell joined the cast of the action flick "Fast and Furious 7." Kurt Russell joins Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez, Tony Jaa, Donda Rousey and Djimon Hounsou.

“Fast and Furious 7” will be directed by James Wan, hot on his Insidious movies.

In a photo released by Universal Pictures, Kurt Russell, 62, looks like he’s working in an auto repair shop, alongside "Fast and Furious" cast veterans Paul Walker and Vin Diesel.

Vin Diesel confirmed the news on Facebook that the Kurt Russell "Fast & Furious 7" casting rumors are true.

The producers of “Fast and Furious 7” have not yet revealed who Kurt Russell will play in the latest installment of the movie franchise.

Kurt Russell has starred in such films as "Silkwood," "Escape from New York," "Escape from L.A.," "The Thing," "Big Trouble in Little China," "Stargate," "Miracle," "Poseidon" and "Death Proof."

Rumors have been circulating that Kurt Russell was set to join "Fast and Furious 7," but it was confirmed first by a Tweet on the official “Fast and Furious 7” Twitter page.

The last time we saw Kurt Russell was in the movie "The Art Of The Steal" with Chris Diamantopoulos, Jay Baruchel, Francie Tobin, Kenneth Welsh and Matt Dillon, which right now you canonly see in limited release in Canada.

“Fast and Furious 7” is about a den of thieves who don't trust each other and are out to steal a painting by Georges Seurat, or in another subplot, a valuable book by Gutenberg.

"Fast & Furious 6" was the highest grossing film for Universal, when it opened last may. "Fast & Furious 6" made $750 million (RM247 billion). "“Fast and Furious 6” was written and directed by Jonathan Sobol.

“Fast and Furious 7” is set to hit theaters on July 11, 2014.
