Is Nina Dobrev dating Derek Hough? Judging by Nina Dobrev's recent Instagram posts, and now Derek Hough's recent Twitter response, Derek may be Nina Dobrev's new boyfriend.

As we recently reported, Nina Dobrev couldn't make it to the 2013 Emmy Awards on Sunday, but that doesn't mean she didn't congratulate Derek Hough for his Emmy award win for Outstanding Choreography. Her three Instagram posts to Derek made it seem like they were dating, and that he may be her next boyfriend after breaking up with ex-boyfriend Ian Somerhalder after three years of dating.

"@Derekhough !!!!!!!! #EMMYWINNER I cant express in 140 characters how unbelievably excited+incredibly proud I am of you. You deserve this :)" Nina captioned a photo of Derek with his Emmy award.

She posted another picture on her Instagram, with Julianne and Derek on the red carpet at the 2013 Emmy Awards: "@juleshough You looked absolutely STUNNING last night ! @derekhough I wish I wasnt filming so I could have been there to celebrate w/u guys!" Nina Dobrev wrote.

The third photo came with a heartfelt message that may only be reserved for a boyfriend: "@derekhough Those of us touched by your light got to watch you brighten up the rest of the world. Keep shining!https://youtu.be/3lf6Qe7XAok"

Derek responded to Nina Dobrev's Instagram photos with a simple and sweet Twitter post: "Your the best babe."

According to E! News, the "Dancing With the Stars" pro and "The Vampire Diaries" actress are indeed an item.

Though one insider says they didn't begin seeing each other until August, another source says their relationship is already "somewhat serious."

However, Derek's rep declined to comment and Dobrev's rep could not be immediately reached by E! News.
