Katherine Heigl, said `Grey’s Anatomy’ says she wants to get back on TV with a new CIA drama, but at least one of her "Grey's Anatomy" co-stars thinks things night go in a different direction.

Ellen Pompeo told the New York Post "Hurt feelings, combined with instant success and huge paychecks started things spinning out of control. The crazier things got, as I watched all the tumult with Isaiah and then the Katie thing, I started to focus on the work."

Ellen Pompeo said working with Katherine Heigl was a constant stream of "desperately difficult situations."

Ellen Pompeo said that Katherine Heigl's exit from the show Grey's Anatomy took its toll on everyone. She said "You could understand why she wanted to go -- when you're offered $12 million a movie and you're only 26," she said. "But Katie's problem is that she should not have renewed her contract. She re-upped, took a big raise and then tried to get off the show. And then her movie career did not take off."

Katherine Heigl, who left “Grey’s Anatomy” three years ago, wants to return to television. Katherine Heigl has been shopping around a new CIA drama. Katherine Heigl has been keeping a low profile for the past two years since she adopted two daughters, she did do a Nyquil commercial, probably from all the late nights that raising children entails.

Best known for her role as Dr. Izzie on “Grey’s Anatomy,” Katherine Heigl has a new project lined up that she is showing to broadcast and cable networks. The series was penned by Alexi Hawley, who was the co-executive producer of “The Following.” Robert Simonds, who made “The Pink Panther” has been developing the project with Hawley and Katherine Heigl. Right now, NBC seems to be the frontrunner, but many networks are reported to be interested in the new Katherine Heigl vehicle. ABC, which Katherine Heigl called a long-time home, is not reported to be in the talks because t is too similar to the Washington DC drama, “Scandal” which was the brainchild of “Grey’s Anatomy” creator Shonda Rhimes. A decision won’t be made until sometime next week.

Katherine Heigl’s new series would focus on how the CIA handles global hotspots. Katherine Heigl would play a communications liaison who advises the president. Katherine Heigl was drawn to the series because of the strong female character that drives the show.

The series would be a departure for Katherine Heigl, reports say that the series would be a procedural drama rather than a medical soap.

Katherine Heigl went up against the writers on her series “Knocked Up” and “Grey’s Anatomy.” She made a few movies, like the “chick flicks” “27 Dresses”, “One For The Money” and “The Big Wedding”.
Heigl has been enjoying her time away from the spotlight. She has been living with her husband and daughters in Utah, she “Our house is in the mountains where I can enjoy being a mother and wife. Our dogs love roaming – every time I try to leave they bark and jump on me!”

Talking about “Knocked Up” to Vanity Fair, Heigl said “It paints the women as shrews, as humorless and uptight, and it paints the men as lovable, goofy, fun-loving guys. … I had a hard time with it, on some days. I’m playing such a bitch; why is she being such a killjoy?”

Katherine Heigl has not commented on the comeback.
