The Playstation from Sony is one of the two mainstream platforms that gamers use today, and to become its record-holder for sales is no small feat. But that's what our latest GTA V news is all about. 

After just three weeks in the market, GTA V becomes the biggest digital game release for the Sony Playstation, an announcement by Sony said. 

In the platform's own blog, it reported that GTA V was September's 'runaway success'. 

According to the blog site's manager Fred Dutton, "Grand Theft Auto 5 dominated the PS3 chart, breaking The Last of Us' record to become the biggest ever digital release on the platform." 

GTA V has been on a roll during its first couple of days in the market. In just 24 hours, it racked up $800 million in sales. Two days later, it became the fastest selling entertainment product after selling $1 billion or more than 17 million units. 

However, the game was not able to keep up its momentum as it was immeditely dethroned by FIFA 14 in UK charts a week later.
