Nokia Tablet Rumors, Release Date: Windows-Powered Tablet To Be Launched With Lumia 1520, First Phablet Running On Microsoft OS, On October 22

Nokia tablet release date, with the device named ‘Sirius’, is speculated to be on October 22. Last September, the Microsoft-owned company announced an event that it will be holding on that date and many are expecting Nokia to launch two devices on the said day, both powered by Windows Phone 8.

The first would be the Nokia ‘Sirius’ tablet, which according to some rumors was a device that Microsoft wanted to cancel when it purchased the Finnish electronics manufacturer. Nonetheless, it seems that it would still be launched and will have a release date this month. It is expected to be launched with the Nokia Lumia 1520, a Windows Phone 8-powered tablet.

According to Ubergizmo, the leaked specs of the device show that it will be powered by Windows RT, will have a 10.1-inch IPS full 1080p HD display, quadcore Qualcomm 8974 processor and a 6.7 megapixel rear camera with Carl Zeiss optics. The device is said to be around .35 inches thick and will weight 1.3 pounds. Rumors suggest that it will be priced at around $499.

According to famous gadget-leaker EVLeaks, the Nokia Sirius will be launched with the “bandit,” which is codename for Lumia 1520. In a set of rumors collated by Inferse, the Nokia Lumia 1520 will have a Snapdragon 800, a quad-core processor with 2.3 GHz. It will also have an updated Adreno 330 GPU delivering up to 50% increase in graphics performance and support for advanced graphics. The 1520 will also have 2 GB of memory and 32 GB non-expandable storage.

Camera for the phablet will be 21MPix with PureView technology. Video recording for the very first Windows Phone 8 phablet could include Ultra HD 4K recording capabilities. Inferse noted that the Lumia 1520 will possibly be priced at $649.00 for an unlocked model.
