Upcoming Android Phones 2013: Samsung Announces Galaxy J For Japan, Adds To The Already Saturated 'Galaxy' Line

There are a few notable upcoming Android phones in 2013 and for good measure - Sony has upped its game with a phablet in the Z1, LG has almost manufactured the perfect Droid with its G2, and Samsung has been in its usual self  - launching different variations of its flagship phones.

Now, the Korean giant is aiming at the Japanese market with an exclusive variant of its Galaxy Note 3 - the Samsung Galaxy J.

While J obviously stands for Japan, the Galaxy lineup is slowly becoming a saturated smartphone family that most consumers would say 'meh, it's just another Galaxy phone'.

Establishing a brand name is good during its first couple of years, but if you launch dozens of devices (phones and tablets) bearing the same name, it eventually gets boring.

But make not mistake about it, the iPhone lineup is also boring as far as naming is concerned. The difference is that Apple only releases one iPhone a year, though 2013 is an exception with the launch of the iPhone 5c.

By the way, the Galaxy J reportedly boasts a Snapdragon 800 chipset, 3GB of RAM, and a 5" 1080p display. It will also come in several colors and will be exclusively available on Japan's NTT DoCoMo carrier.
