Sunye of Wonder Girls welcomed her baby with James Pak on October 17, and like many celebrity moms, opted for a home birth instead of delivering her child at a hospital.

"With the prayers of many people, I was able to give birth to a beautiful daughter within eight hours through home birth," writes Sunye on her Twitter account.

"I'm very, very thankful for all the congratulations presents for her birth. I will raise her healthily!"

With more and more moms like Sunye of Wonder Girls choosing to do home birth instead of hospital birth, just what are the advantages to delivering a baby at home?

According to AmericanPregnancy.org, home birth is an option for healthy moms, especially given the advancement in technology which allows for less risks outside of the hospital.

Some reasons for home birth include:

1. Avoiding an episiotomy, cesarean section, epidural or other interventions.

2. Sharing the experience with family and friends.

3. Moms can move around, change positions, and even eat, drink, or shower during labor.

4. Enjoying the comfort of your home and surroundings.

And it seems Sunye of Wonder Girls certainly chose the right method of birth for her family, given the healthy state of the baby.
