James Cameron's 'Avatar' is certainly one of Hollywood's notable box office successes in 2009. Since the movie's release, fans have continuously raved for the stunning beauty of Pandora that has been featured in the film.

The good news is that fans will have a reason to rejoice since the home to the blue-skinned Na'vi trible will soon be immortalized at Walt Disney World's Animal Kingdom in Florida. Walt Disney Parks and Resorts chairman Tom Staggs have confirmed the plans of making a Pandora-like theme park during the D23 Expo in Tokyo last weekend.

Set to open in 2017, the park will have a bioluminescent jungle as well as the gigantic mythical Banshee:  "As these concept renderings show in epic scale, in the world of Avatar guests will encounter awe-inspiring floating mountains and wander through a nighttime jungle of bioluminescent plants that are alive with light and sound. Guests will also discover what it feels like to soar into the sky riding a Banshee," Staggs declared on the company's blog.

Disney has similarly announced that they will partner with Cameron's Lightstorm Entertainment and Fox Filmed Entertainment to bring the fantasy of 'Avatar' to life: "Our combined team has taken huge steps forward in 'imagineering' Pandora as a real place for our guests to see, hear and touch. As the world of Avatar becomes real at Disney's Animal Kingdom, the energy and passion shared by our imagineers and the Lightstorm team for this monumental task continues to be remarkable. I can't wait to see the reactions of our guests as they step into a world that until now has only existed on the screen."

The Avatar attraction is estimated to cost $500 million. It will be a part of the park's expansion projects. The Pandora-inspired world will open during the early days of the film's franchise. Last July, Fox has announced that it will be releasing thee sequels to the film starting 2016.
