‘Transformers’ Director Attacked In Hong Kong After Refusing To Pay Money To Vendors; ‘He Walked Right Up To Me And Tried To Smack My Face,’ Says Michael Bay

American director Michael Bay has been attacked in Hong Kong during the shooting of the latest installment of action movie 'Transformers'. Nonetheless, the attack did not affect the director who quickly disregarded the incident.

Two brothers who are in their late twenties approached Bay on the set of the fiction film. The younger brother then demanded HK $100,000 to the director. They say that they are vendors whose businesses have been interrupted by the shoot.

"I personally told this man and his friends to forget it we were not going to let him extort us," wrote Bay. He likewise claims that an hour later, the men returned but this time with a "long air conditioner unit."  The older brother assaulted Bay and attacked the police offers who came to his rescue.

Bay describes how the man attacked him:  "He walked right up to me and tried to smack my face, but I ducked threw the air unit on the floor and pushed him away. That's when the security jumped on him."

Both brothers have been arrested because of blackmail and assault. Film distributor Paramount Pictures say that the director was unhurt and that no one in the cast or crew suffered from injuries: "The director ducked and wrested the air conditioner from his attacker, preventing what could have been a serious accident. The company's security team quickly stepped in and subdued the assault."

"Transformers: Age of Extinction" is slated for release in June 2014 and stars Mark Wahlberg and Nicola Peltz.
