Miley Cyrus: Career Over After New Drastic Image Change?

Is Miley Cyrus and her career over now that she's no longer sporting a wholesome Disney image?

The American singer and actress became famous when Disney cast her to play Hannah Montana in 2006. Cyrus became intensely popular as a teen idol following her portrayal of the wholesome role.

In 2007, the blonde singer worked with Hollywood Records and signed a contract with them. Cyrus released Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus. The album sold three million copies in America and had a top 10 single, "See You Again", in the Billboard Hot 100.

That same year, the Disney all-star saw her Hannah Montana show adapted into a hit movie.

Last year, Cyrus changed her image drastically with a new pixie haircut and revealing outfits. Cyrus told E! Online and People that she "never felt more [herself] in [her]whole life" and that "it really changed [her] life".

In 2013 the former Hannah Montana hired Larry Rudolph to be her manager. Rudolph used to work with A-lister Britney Spears. In the same year she stopped signing with Hollywood Records and signed a new contract with RCA Records for her fourth studio album called "Bangerz".

The new album and the accompanying music videos from its released singles show a much different Miley Cyrus. She is seen wearing overly skimpy outfits and has lyrics in her songs that may reference drugs, notably her reference to "Molly" in her song "We Can't Stop". "Molly" is a slang word for the illegal drug Ecstasy.

After her much talked about performance at the VMA, Cyrus got both fans and critics wondering, "Is Miley Cyrus' career over"?

From the commercial reception of Bangerz and the released singles, it looks like the singer is still on a roll. "We Can't Stop" was second place on the US Billboard Hot 100. The song is the first ever number hit for Cyrus in countries like England and New Zealand.

Her Youtube video for "We Can't Stop" set a Vevo record after it got over 10 million views within just one day of its released.
