Blake Lively To Play The Role Of A Woman That Stops Aging; Producers Believe That ‘Gossip Girl’ Star Will The Story In An Unforgettable Way

While 'The Age of Adaline' has underwent several remakes in the past, the romantic drama will again be reproduced in March and will star 'Gossip Girl's' Blake Lively and 'Draft Day' actress Ellen Burstyn.

The film revolves around the life of 29-year-old Adaline who mysteriously stops aging after missing a near-death accident. While keeping her secret intact, she embarks on a worldwide journey alone where she meets a man who will forever change her life.

"They're extraordinarily talented and perfect for telling the beautiful and timeless tale of 'The Age of Adaline'," says Lakeshore CEO Rosenberg about the film's official casting. He also adds that they will be telling the story of Adaline in a way the "audiences won't forget."

Noting that the project took awhile to come together (Katherine Heigl once was attached), Lionsgate Motion Picture Group Co-Chairs Rob Friedman and Patrick Wachsberger said: "We searched for the ideal director and stars. We believe that we have found them with Lee Toland Krieger, Blake Lively and Ellen Burstyn, and together they will tell the story of Adaline in a way that audiences won't forget."

Blake Lively has replaced the character of Katherine Heigl in the film.
