IU and EXO Square Off on Music Bank… IU Wins!

IU and EXO squared off on KBS's "Music Bank" for the number 1 spot on the TV music program.

On the October 18th airing of Music Bank, IU's ultra-popular song "The Red Shoes" was chosen to compete with EXO's million selling hit "Growl".

IU's "The Red Shoes" is a song based on Hans Christen Andersen's short story, "The Red Shoes" and is about a girl's desire to return to the happiest days of her relationship by wearing the red shoes.

IU took the first spot on the cable channel music shows, including "Show! Champion" and Mnet's "M Countdown." She even managed to win against EXO on "Music Bank." It was her first mainstream broadcast win with her new album.

EXO, on the other hand, released their single "Growl" some three months ago and took the top spot with the song. However, the popularity of the song never died out, and it has returned again on to the charts to compete for the number one spot. It's like EXO's popularity is never diminished.

The October 18th episode of Music Bank featured IU, EXO, SHINee, T-ARA, Seo In Young, Lim Chang Jung, Nine Muses, Rhythm Power, Boys Republic, Jaurim, Jung In, AOA, BTS, Jung Jun Young, Block-B, BESTie and Youme.
