2013 World Series Predictions: Will The Red Hot Sox Smash Its Way Against The Cardinals?

With a hot team like the Boston Red Sox and an equally sizzling lineup like The St. Louis Cardinals, critics and fans will have a very tough time for giving out their 2013 World Series predictions.

In game six of the American League Championship Series, the Sox were down 1-2 against the Detroit Tigers at the seventh inning when a movie-like winning grand slam took place care of Shane Victorino to bring his team to the World Series.

The game finished with a 5-2 score bringing the Sox back to the grandest stage in baseball for the third time in 10 seasons. Their series with the Tigers went down to 4-2 games for them to take the ALCS crown.

Boston's club president Larry Lucchino told reporters that the team didn't expect this to happen. He just wanted the team to be on the right direction and was happy where it took them.

"Certainly, we hoped and prayed for it, but we didn't specifically plan for this. We never thought we could come so far so fast. We just wanted to get going in the right direction," said Lucchino.

The Cardinals on the other hand, gave the Dodgers a hard time for their National League Championship Series crown. The St. Louis club destroyed the Los Angeles club with a 9-0 score finish in their game 6 playoff matchup. The dominating win to finish the series was sparked by a four-run third inning by Carlos Beltran.

Beltran who has his first opportunity to step on the World Series stage says that teamwork was the key for their win.

"I'm so happy right now. We did it as a team," the Cardinals outfielder said. "We fought hard, we worked hard all season long and thank god we're here."

This will be the second time in three years that the St. Louis Cardinals will be in the World Series after winning the crown in 2011.

It will be a rematch for the 2004 World Series where the two teams faced each other that led to a finals sweep by Boston. It will be a tough series as the two baseball finalists finished the regular season with the exact same 97-65 win-loss record, making it a tight and almost even competition when you look at it on paper.
