To remind his followers about his meaningful 2013 Birthday project, 'The Vampire Diaries' actor has changed his Twitter bio picture. Next to the image is a text which explains the on-screen vampire's wish for his upcoming birthday. 

"For my 35th birthday I have a simple goal...Imagine if 1 million of the 7 billion people on earth shared just $35 with the Ian Somerhalder Foundation we could stop wishing and create change. 2 months away on December 8, is my BIRTHDAY PROJECT. For me it's my crucial time in my life and the lives of us all for the type of change on our planet as well as in us that will move us compassionately and sustainably into our future. The former 'Lost' actor established the Ian Somerhalder Foundation in 2010 after an oil spill threatened to ruin his native land, Louisiana. Somerhalder did not stop in promoting his environment advocacies. For his upcoming birthday, the foundation has a special poster which shows the face of a caged gorilla whose freedom has been hopelessly taken away. The poster comes with a message: "Imagine if all us who cared shared just $35 with the Ian Somerhalder Foundation we could finally open the cage doors in honor of our founder Ian Somerhalder's 35th birthday. Support our goal to empower youth."

ISF primary goals include the commencement of sustainable farms, building of animal shelters, and construction of an educational campsite wherein the youth can learn how to be compassionate for the mute creatures.  Not only will the shelter serve as a haven for abandoned and mistreated animals but it will likewise provide an educational journey to the youth.
