Toyota Camry And Other Models Gets Recalled -- Unusual Problem Caused The Fiasco

Toyota recalls 885,000 vehicles due to an air conditioner problem that causes airbag to malfunction. Included in the recall are models like the Toyota Camry, Avalon and the Venza.

Failure in the vehicle's airbags can cause serious damage as it can shut down the steering system of the car.

2012 to 2013 versions of the autos, even the hybrid edition of the said vehicles are affected with the recall.

Leaks in the air conditioning units were found that caused a major turmoil for Toyota. The water will leak from the condenser unit that will drop to the airbag control module that would cause the airbag system to short circuit.

The short circuit will either deploy or disable the vehicle's airbag and in some instances turn on the airbag warning light. Some reports say that other vehicles' power steering failed to function as well.

Auto Analyst, Vivek Vaidya told BBC that "If you have one big recall, it is still manageable. But if (a company) calls back different vehicle models at different times for unrelated issues, customers tend to have a re-think about your quality assurance."

"And if the problem involves airbag deployment - it becomes a serious issue," he continued.

The main suspect for these Toyota mess are spiders. The creepy crawlers and their webs were reported the main reason that would clog the drainage tubes that would cause the leaks.

The fix for this big issue though is rather a simple one. Toyota said that to fix the leak in the air conditioning unit, they just have to apply sealant and install a cover to avoid leaks and spiders from coming in the car's system.

The auto company said that the free repair will ease the problem and that owners will be notified by mail on when they can bring their vehicles to Toyota.
