Johnny Depp shocked fans with his new blonde hairdo, which he debuted when he presented the BFI Fellowship Award to British actor Christopher Lee.

Johnny Depp's brunette locks were dyed an interesting bright yellow color, but he kept his roots dark. He styled his new hairdo by parting it in the middle. "The Lone Ranger" star also wore a black tuxedo to the event.

The 50-year-old actor is known for experimenting with daring looks, ABC News reports.

Johnny Depp's 27-year-old girlfriend, actress Amber Heard, is a blonde, and we noticed an interesting similarity between their hair colors now.

Perhaps Depp was inspired by his beautiful girlfriend for a hairstyle change?

Depp and Heard met on the set of their 2011 film, "The Rum Diary" and began dating shortly after filming, the Hollywood Life reports.

Depp presented Lee with the British Film Institute Fellowship, and called his legendary co-star a "wonderful inspiration to him," ABC News reports.

"It was certainly a childhood dream come true" to work beside Lee, Depp said.

Depp called the 91-year-old actor "a true gentleman," "a national treasure" and a "true artist." Depp and Lee have worked together on three Tim Burton films: "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", "Sleepy Hollow" and "Dark Shadows."

Depp closed his surprise appearance with a heartfelt, "I love you," ABC News reports.

In his acceptance speech, Lee said Depp "means an enormous amount to me," and called him  "a true star."

Now that's what we call a bromance!
