Apple Product Launch Event October 2013: Consumers Anticipate The Launch Of iPad 5, iPad Mini Retina Display, New Mac Pro, OS X Maverick And May Be One More Thing

Ppple product launch event that will take place today, October 22, 2013 coincides with the launch of Nokia's new tablet and Microsoft's Surface 2.

The limelight is on the Apple event that runs the tagline, 'We still have a lot to cover.'

Industry insiders have been speculating since a couple of months as to what new launches will Apple CEO Tim Cook announce at the annual event. The maximum numbers of bets are placed on the launch of iPad 5, Apple's fifth generation version of its highest selling tablet range.

The new iPad 5 is rumored to be equipped with 64-bit A7 chip and fingerprint sensors for unlocking the device.

Next on the highly anticipated list is the iPad mini 2 which is expected to boast high end Retina Display. There were reports that Apple Inc. is struggling with some technical glitches in iPad mini 2; however, the company seems set to release the new version just ahead of the holiday season.

With iOS 7, iPhone 5S and 5c announced just a month back and iPad 5 and iPad mini 2 set to be launched today, there was no reason why Apple should ignore the much delayed update to its Mac Pro series of desktop computers.

The new Mac Pro was first hinted at the World Wide Developer's Conference in June, 2013 where Apple Inc. provided a peek-a-boo into the most ambitious desktop machine from its posy of gadgets. Along with it, OS X Mavericks may also surface on the event, even if it is only the tentative date of its roll out.

Apple Inc. has had a roller coaster year 2013 with its iPhone 5s becoming hit amongst the consumers and iPhone 5c receiving a very lukewarm response.
The company recently hired ex-Burberry CEO Angela Ahrendts as the head of its retail segment and Apple stores with the aim of capturing markets in emerging economies.
