OS X Mavericks Release: Free Downloads Of The New Operating System Greets Consumers

Apple revealed to the public yesterday at the fall event the new OS X Mavericks release. Four months after introducing the newest operating system for the MacBooks in their Worldwide Developers Conference last June, the company finally announced that starting today the new OS will be pre-installed in the new line of laptops and it will be free of charge.

The new updates are packed with as many as 200 new features. Included is the integration of iBooks and Maps to the laptops and the newest version of the web bowser Safari.

"Mavericks is an incredible release, which introduces significant new apps and features, while also improving the performance and battery life of your Mac," Apple's senior vice president of Software Engineering Craig Federighi said. "We want every Mac user to experience the latest features, the most advanced technologies, and the strongest security. We believe the best way to do this is to begin a new era of personal computing software where OS upgrades are free."

IBooks and Maps were previously seen in Apple gadgets such as iPads and iPhones. With the new integration of these apps in their computers, laptop and desktop users can now read their purchased books in their respective computers which is synced via the iCloud. Apple also included some features that have been already seen on tablets and phones like notification tabs for iMessages and Twitter, to name a few.

Maps, on the other hand, is also synced in iCloud where you can plan your trip in your computer and when it's time to go, program the Maps app to automatically appear on your idevice.

Meanwhile, the facelift given to the Safari app integrates the links and bookmarks you have on your browser and at the same time incorporate links from your Twitter and LinkedIn followers.

Finder Tags has also been added in which it incorporates all images, documents and other files into one folder just by adding tags.

The update for the 10th generation operating system for Macs is already available today with no charge whatsoever.
