Instagram For Windows Phone: Nokia World 2013 Announced The Coming Of Picture Sharing App To Its Handsets

The long wait is over Instagram for Windows phone is finally coming! It took Nokia sometime to finally convince Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom to provide the official picture sharing app to Windows Phone users.

"Our ultimate goal is to bring Instagram to everyone who wants to use it," says Systrom. "We're looking forward to watching the Windows Phone community use Instagram to capture and share beautiful moments in the coming weeks," Systrom said.

The photo-sharing social network, which has 150 million monthly active users, has been on iOS for about three years and on Android since April 2012. Now it’s making its way to Windows Phone within “weeks”, according to Nokia.

Both Nokia and Instagram are not sharing any information on what the app’s features would include.
The news was confirmed during Nokia World 2013 conference in Abu Dhabi.

Prior to the announcement, Nokia have tried filling the photo-sharing social network gap with alternatives such as Oggl from Hipstamatic. When asked about the phone’s lack of Instagram last May, Nokia’s Jo Harlow told TechCrunch, ”Obviously our goal is to brings great apps to the Windows Phone platform. We have a huge amount of respect for Instagram and we continue to work in that direction and in particular with Microsoft, and with apps like Hipstamatic and the ability to share your pictures on Instagram.”

Intagram will be available to Windows Phone In a few weeks.
