‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ Movie Casting: Will Christian Grey Be An Unknown Actor? Producer Is Looking For A ‘Fresh Face’

"Fifty Shades of Grey" movie casting is buzzing after Charlie Hunnam dropped out, leaving his Christian Grey role up for grabs. Are "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie producers looking for an unknown actor to play Christian Grey?

"Fifty Shades of Grey" movie producer Michael De Luca told The Los Angeles Times on Monday that he wants Charlie Hunnam's replacement for the role of Christian Grey to be a newcomer.

"I feel like everyone has an idea of what these characters look like and sound like, so to present the world with fresh faces -- where no pre-conceived notions or baggage come with it -- is best," De Luca explained. "It's like casting Superman or James Bond. A fresh face is appropriate."

According to Us magazine, some lesser-known actors that have been rumored for the role of Christian Grey in "Fifty Shades of Grey" are Australian actor Luke Bracey, "Into the Woods" star Billy Magnussen, "Once Upon a Time" actor Jamie Dornan, "Romeo and Juliet" star Christian Cooke, "Underworld: Awakening" actor Theo James, French Canadian actor Francois Arnaud and Clint Eastwood's son Scott Eastwood.

According to The Los Angeles Times, Dakota Johnson, 24, is still on board as Anastasia Steele for the "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie.

De Luca said Dakota remained eager to get on set, and he expressed confidence in her ability to play Steele, The Los Angeles Times reports.

"I happen to think Dakota could have chemistry with a mailbox," the producer said. "But we're going to help her out and hook her up with the right person."

This comes as good news to some, because Hunnam previously suggested that their onscreen chemistry was one of the reasons they were cast as Steele and Grey, respectively.

De Luca added that filming was still slated to begin November 13.
