‘Ant Man’ Film Will Have ‘Comedic Angle’ Thanks To ‘Scott Pilgrim’ Director; Final Casting Announcement Before End Of The Year

The 'Ant Man' Movie is finally falling into place. Marvel President Kevin Feige revealed much of how the movie will look, and its director has a clear vision for it.

The director of the film is Edgar Wright, whose past credits include the critical and box-office success, "Scott Pilgrim Vs The World" in 2010. This year, he helmed the widely raved action comedy "The World's End" with Simon Pegg. The connection between Wright and Pegg fueled the rumors that Pegg was playing Ant Man. Although the British comedian shot it down, he is still not written off the list.

In an IGN interview (which also had Thor: The Dark World director Alan Taylor) Kevin Feige shares about Ant Man:  "It's finally actually happening. [Edgar Wright] goes into the Marvel offices in Los Angeles every day at 9 o'clock ... and is working on tweaking the drafts with Joe Cornish. We're crewing up and prepping and there should be some cast announcements before the end of the year. ... I think it'll be Edgar Wright in tone, but I think it's a disservice to Edgar to just say, 'Oh, it's a comedy.' He wants to do something very unique with it in the way that Alan did something very unique in 'The Dark World.' Edgar early on going back years and years when he first was pitching it, pitched it as much of a heist movie as anything else."

He also mentioned that the final casting announcement for Ant-Man will be made before the end of the year.

On the question of the Doctor Strange rumors: "It's no secret that the supernatural angle, the angle of alternates and parallel dimensions we have not done in any of the films. It's not only part of 'Doctor Strange' comics, it's a huge part of the Marvel Universe we haven't explored yet. So, I love the notion of tapping into all of that through Strange at some point."
