After Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Release Date, Square Enix Announces A Committee To Oversee Game Quality

Now that Final Fantasy X and X-2 HD remakes have an official Japanese release date, it seems Square Enix wants to assure fans that the franchise is being rescued...in the form of a committee.

IGN confirms that Final Fantasy X and X-2 HD remakes will be released in Japan December 26 in Japan, so an international release date could very well be announced soon.

There are few bundles for gamers to consider. Both Final Fantasy X HD and Final Fantasy X-2 HD can be purchased separately upon their release date, both physical copies and digital copies for the PS3 and PlayStation Vita. In addition, they can be purchased as a bundle for both systems at a higher price, and it seems there might even be a Vita bundle with both games attached.

Hopefully a western release date for Final Fantasy X and X-2 HD will be announced soon!

But the remakes are not the only news for Square Enix. Apparently, a committee has been formed to oversee the quality of the Final Fantasy franchise.

Reportedly, the committee includes Naoki Yoshida (Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn), Hajime Tabata (Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy Agito, Final Fantasy XV), Motomu Toriyama (Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy XIII-2), and Yoshinori Kitase (Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII).

As noted by so many Final Fantasy fans, the franchise has suffered a great deal in terms of reputation, especially with Final Fantasy XIV. It is currently unknown how this committee plans to redirect the franchise in he future, but more news will no doubt arrive soon.

Hopefully the Final Fantasy X and X-2 HD release date will excite fans enough to keep it going.
