Nokia Lumia 1520 Release Date: AT&T To Have Exclusive Contract To Nokia’s 6-Inch Handset, Will Also Be Offering The 2520 Windows RT Tablet, No Date For Launch

Nokia Lumia 1520 release date: The newest handset from the Microsoft-owned company has just been launched and AT&T has just confirmed that it will be the exclusive carrier for the 6-inch handset. It had a similar deal with the Nokia 900, 920 and 1020 and the company has also announced that it will be offering the Nokia 2520 Windows RT tablet exclusively, which has LTE capability.

According to The Verge, AT&T has yet to give word on the color options or release date of the Lumia product, but says that the tablet is arriving “just in time for the holiday season.” The phone is listed on the company’s site as “coming soon.” Big red carrier Verizon is rumored to be planning a variant of the 1520 known as the Lumia 929 to be released this year.

The Nokia Lumia 1520 features a 6-inch 1080p display, 20 MP PureView camera, 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage and is powered by the Windows Phone 8. The phone will be available in yellow, white, black and glossy red.

According to Nokia’s official statement on the handset’s launch, the Nokia Lumia 1520 will start shipping 4Q of 2013 and will have an estimated price of $749 before taxes and subsidies. It will be made available first to the U.S., U.K., China, Singapore, Hong Kong, France, Germany and Finland and other European markets.

The company launched the newest phone in announcement where Nokia unveiled six final consumer devices for the year, in a big push to capture a slice of the holiday shopping pie. During the announcement of the 1520, the Nokia 2520 also debuted – the first Windows-powered tablet by Nokia. The specs of the device is similar to the Microsoft’s very own Surface 2 tablet.
