Samsung Galaxy S4 Update: Android 4.3 Jelly Bean Rollout For Device Brings Samsung Galaxy Gear Support, Users In Korea Began Receiving Upgrade

Samsung Galaxy S4 update: Android 4.3 Jelly Bean rollout for the Samsung flagship is gaining much steam, according to Gotta Be Mobile. The website is reporting that more users today have received the update in the South Korean tech giant’s home base, giving the device capability to support the Samsung handset companion, Samsung Galaxy Gear.

A few short days ago, Samsung began rolling out the long awaited Samsung Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update to its users. The company has announced the arrival of the update for the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the Samsung Galaxy S3 at the company’s event in Berlin last September, where it launched the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Samsung Galaxy Gear.

According to Gotta Be Mobile, the Android 4.3 rollout for the Samsung Galaxy S4 has been limited to a few specific devices and while Samsung isn’t opening up the floodgates just yet, as the site says, the move to update as many devices as possible is going pretty quick. The SHV-E300K variant of the Samsung Galaxy S4 is the latest device to get the upgrade from Android 4.2 Jelly Bean to Android 4.3

SamMobile reported that the Android 4.3 rollout should be available via OTA and the download and install process should take less than an hour to complete once it’s finished. Aside from the Samsung Galaxy S4, many users of Samsung Galaxy S3 have been waiting for the update, especially since the device has skipped the Android 4.2.2. update for the much later iteration.

Gotta Be Mobile reports that though the Samsung Galaxy S4 has begun rolling out, release date for it has yet to arrive for the U.S. carriers, which are usually behind its international counterparts when it comes to these updates. It could take time before we see it in AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular and Verizon.

At the moment, the Android 4.3 update for the Samsung Galaxy S3 is limited to variants outside of North America.
