Philip Chism Killed Colleen Ritzer With Box Cutter; 14-Year-Old 'Might Have Been Upset' When He Fatally Stabbed Beloved Math Teacher Philip Chism, According To Uncle

Colleen Ritzer, the Danvers high school math teacher was killed with a box cutter, as revealed from surveillance footage from CCTV cameras around the school.

Philip Chism, the 14 year old student was charged with murder and taken in custody without bail. It has not been revealed whether Chism will be tried as a juvenile or an adult under Massachusetts law.

Ritzer's murder and Chism's involvement came as a shocker to their friends, relatives and the students of Danvers high school. They failed to understand why would someone kill Colleen Ritzer, a dedicated teacher and great human being.

It was as hard to believe that Philip Chism, a talented and usually shy person could murder someone in cold blood. Philip Chism's uncle, Terrence Chism Blaine, told CNN his nephew 'might have been upset.'

"You know -- teenagers go through that. He's 14, he's growing up still. That's the only thing that I can imagine. I can't imagine anything else because he's like a storybook kid -- a perfect family," said Chism's uncle who was at a loss to comprehend the situation.

According to Philip Chism's classmate Cambria Cloutier, Ms. Ritzer had asked Philip Chism to stay after class because the teacher caught him doodling in his book and listening to music.

The CCTV in the school corridors captured the gory details of what followed later.

Sources close to investigation have revealed that Philip Chism followed Colleen Ritzer in the girls' rest room on the second floor and hit her repeatedly before killing her with a box cutter. Thereafter he put her body in a garbage bin, rolled it bodily to the back of the school and emptied it there.

The police on Wednesday had followed the blood trail from the second floor rest room to locate Ritzer's body behind the school.
