Free Games For Xbox Live Gold Members: ‘Games With Gold’ Now A Permanent Feature For Xbox 360 Users; ‘Halo 3’ Available Only Until October 31

Good news for the Xbox Live Gold members, free games offering will continue indefinitely.

Free games for Xbox Live Gold members is a perk offered by Microsoft through a program called "Games with Gold." This promotion was introduced during E3 2013 with the company promising that there will be 2 free games for Xbox Live Gold members each month.

During the first part of October, the 2007 game entitled "Might And Magic" were offered as one of the free games for Xbox Live Gold members. And for the second half of the month, Halo 3 is made available for only 0 Microsoft point. Interested Xbox 360 owners who are subscribed to Xbox Live Gold membership can still get the game until October 31.

Free games for Xbox Live Gold members through Games with Gold promotion were supposed to be available only until the arrival of Microsoft's next-gen console, the Xbox One. However, it was recently announced that this offering will be a permanent perk for the Xbox 360 users paying for the Xbox Live Gold.

Microsoft have not announced yet the games that will be offered for free to Xbox 360 users, however, it is most likely that the company will offer games of superior quality. According to their statement, as posted on The Inquirer, "Whether they are blockbuster AAA or popular arcade titles, Games with Gold continues to offer a diverse mix of games with two free Xbox 360 titles a month - yours to keep and at no additional cost." It also seems that the games will not apply to the upcoming console, the Xbox One as Microsoft did not shared details regarding that yet.

The free games for Xbox Live Gold members are for the players to keep forever, even if their subscription lapses, according to Microsoft.  Download 'Halo 3' now before Microsoft releases another free game to replace it for November.
