Simpsons Edna Krabapple, the adorably blunt, loud mouthed and in-your-face teacher will soon exit the popular American series The Simpsons, following the death of Marcia Wallace.

Al Jean, the executive producer made the announcement in a public statement on Saturday, October 26, 2013.  

"I was tremendously saddened to learn this morning of the passing of the brilliant and gracious Marcia Wallace.  She was beloved by all at 'The Simpsons' and we intend to retire her irreplaceable character," said Jean.

Simpson fans are saddened by the retirement of Edna Krabapple, the jaded teacher with an unhappy and almost non-existent happy life. 

Bart Simpson took pleasure in irritating her and she almost never gave up any chance to straighten him up, or for that matter his father, the school principle and other students with her pointed jibes.

The character of Edna Krabapple debuted in 1990 and fetched Marcia Wallace an Emmy for best voice-over artist in 1992. It is only natural to get nostalgic and reminisce about the memorable Edna Krabapple quotes during her two decade long stint with Simpsons. Let's take a look, Ha!
