iPhone 6 Release Date: The 8th Generation iPhone Will Sport A Bigger 4.7 to 4.8-inch Screen, Analysts Claims

iPhone 5s and 5c hasn't even released at some countries, talks about iPhone 6 release date is already circulating around tech society. Senior analyst from Piper Jaffray, Gene Munster

According to the latest note to investors made by Piper Jaffray senior analyst Gene Munster, Apple will launch the 8th generation iPhone with bigger display next year, adding that the new iPhone 6 will be launched by the Cupertino-based company on September next year. Munster is the latest analyst to bet that Apple will be releasing a bigger screen iPhone on the market.

Cantor Fitzgerald analyst Brian White also made his forecast about iPhone's would be screen size. After meeting recently with an Apple supplier, White was confident that the giant company would be releasing a bigger-screen iPhone.

"Our meeting with a tech supply chain vendor highlighted a bigger iPhone is in the works, and our contact expects a launch in the 2Q:14/3Q:14 time frame," White said in an investors note released on Thursday. "Nearly a year ago, our research in Asia uncovered early stage work on a larger iPhone, and we indicated in our Apple initiation report dated 9/4/13 that 'a larger screen size on the iPhone is possible in 2014 that could approach 5 inches. Given today's meeting, we are confident that a larger iPhone (approximately five inches) will become a reality in 2014."

Jefferies analyst Peter Misek backed up White's prediction saying that iPhone 6 will have a 4.8-inch screen.

Misek's statement in an investors note:

"Despite still seeing risk to CQ4 and FY13 revs, we now believe better [gross margins] will allow Apple to skate by until iPhone 6 launches with its 4.8″ screen," Misek wrote in the note. "We est ~50% of smartphone shipments have >4″ screens and that iPhone 6 will catalyze a large upgrade cycle. The stock is attractive based on the attitude change, FY15 revs >+15%, and valuation."

Moreover, these analysts are eyeing an Apple watch to be released next year as well. The said watch is most certainly to be dubbed as iWatch. This smartwatch is predicted to be not just an extension of an iPhone but a multi-purpose access in letting consumers control their home in the likes of lights, heating/cooling, audio, etc., according to an Apple supplier.
