As House Of Cards Season 2 Awaits Release Date, Netflix Discusses Season 3 Deal

Netflix hit series "House of Cards" may still be awaiting its season 2 release date, but the streaming service's Chief Content Officer is already promising season 3.

According to Deadline, a recent keynote by Ted Sarandos signals that beyond "House of Cards" season 2, Netflix has full intention to move forward with the series without too much consideration in terms of viewership.

"Our intent is that the show keeps going for sure," says Sarandos. "It was a 26-episode commitment. It was not our intent that it just run for two seasons."

"Talks are in progress right now."

Currently, "House of Cards" season 2 is in its last week of production, and is expected to debut on Netflix early next year.

This type of confidence from Netflix is similar to that of "Orange is the New Black," a series which has seen massive success despite only having made 13 episodes so far.

Although very little is known about "House of Cards" season 2, spoilers confirm that Linda Vasquez, the chief of staff from season 1, will be keeping herself busy in a new space outside the White House this season.

According to Latinospost, Vasquez will be "in a different space" in "House of Cards" season 2.

"I don't think [Linda's] seen the light of day." They don't let her out much."
