Elder Scrolls Online Release Date: Best Role-Playing Game In Its Genre? Critic Says New Update’s Character Creation Improves On Highly-Praised Skyrim

Many people credit Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim as one of the best role-playing games in its genre, but Elder Scrolls Online will improve its character-creation system, which could have had more options, VentureBeat.com writes.

Gamers around the world are awaiting the release date of Elder Scrolls Online, which has not been announced, and are rejoicing over the decision of the game's developer to include more character features.

ZeniMax Online Studios and its sister firm Bethesda Softworks are testing out new tools in the game's character-building engine, allowing gamers to tweak their player's physical traits, VentureBeat.com reports. Users will be able to adjust leg size, foot size, height, hip size,  gut size and several other dimensions.

Elder Scrolls V: Skygrim, which garnered a lot of attention for its advanced role-playing capabilities and was positioned as one of the best games in its industry by many, will witness many changes with the release of its successor game.

Earlier this month, the Elder Scrolls Online developer announced Trevor Baggett as the winner of a character creation contest, granting him the ability to work with animators to implement the emotes into the game.

The developer also revealed that users will be able to mix and match heavy armor plates with different hoods and boots.

"You will be able to mix and match as you see fit. We do have sets of armor and weapons that confer special bonuses to you when you wear three or more items from that set. Also, if you have gained passive skills in certain armor skill lines, you'll also get a larger bonus when you wear more armor of that type," Zenimax said in a question and answer response.

"And, of course, you may find an individual piece of armor with a bonus trait or enchantment you really like. There will be many choices about how you gear yourself in ESO, with no "right" choice for everyone."
