The CW has released the official plot synopsis for 'The Vampire Diaries' Season 5 Episode 7 entitled 'Death and the Maiden':

"While Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) try to explain Amara's (Nina Dobrev) situation to Stefan (Paul Wesley), Dr. Wes (guest star Rick Cosnett) gives Katherine (Nina Dobrev) some deeply disturbing news. Nadia (guest star Olga Fonda) shows up at Caroline's (Candice Accola) dorm room, searching for Katherine. After a surprising conversation with Amara, Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) and Bonnie (Kat Graham) share a glimmer of hope. Silas (Paul Wesley) fails to keep a promise, causing Damon to turn to Tessa (guest star Janina Gavankar) for help with his new plan, and Stefan makes a heartbreaking confession to Damon and Elena."

 The episode will involve a major doppelganger drama especially that Dobrev will be portraying three characters - Elena, Katherine, and Amara. Both Katherine and Elena seem to be preparing something with Tessa who's clad in a blood-soaked top.

Elena and Stefan also appear to be in an argument although the exact reason has not been disclosed yet.  Bonnie is still pretending to be alive through the help of Jeremy. However, after Jeremy confessed to Damon about Bonnie's real situation, the older Salvatore thought that Silas could help the good witch return to Mystic Falls.

Is Damon wrong for trusting Silas? In the episode synopsis, it was mentioned that Silas "fails to keep a promise" to Damon. Such promise seems to be very relevant with Bonnie. The broken promise leads Damon to Tessa. Although it is not yet revealed why Damon consulted Tessa, it cannot be denied that she was the first witch who created the first immortality spell.

Amara similarly had an unanticipated conversation with Jeremy and Bonnie. Can she help in removing Bonnie from "The Other Side"?
