Jonas Brothers Officially Over: What Caused Their Break Up? Nick Feeling ‘Trapped’ And ‘A Disagreement Over Their Music Direction’

The Jonas Brother are officially over. What caused the Jonas Brothers break up?

Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas announced Tuesday that they're ending the Jonas Brothers, right before starting their tour, which had 19 shows booked.

So why did The Jonas Brothers break up?

"There is a deep rift within the band," spokesman Jesse Derris said on Thursday said, CNN reports. "There was a big a disagreement over their music direction."

Nick Jonas also seemed to be ready to end The Jonas Brothers.

"I was feeling kind of trapped," Nick Jonas said, Time magazine reports. "It's really hard to say 'forever.' We're closing a chapter, for sure."

"It's over for now," Kevin Jonas told People magazine.

Speculation really took off that the band was going to break up when their official Twitter account was deleted.

People.com first reported that Nick, 21, Joe, 24, and Kevin, 25, were arguing over the weekend, leading to the cancellation of their tour, CNN reports.

But the brothers have a lot going on their lives apart from The Jonas Brothers too. Nick and Joe Jonas released solo albums and pursued acting careers in recent years, CNN reports. The oldest brother, Kevin, and his wife, Danielle, have starred in their own reality series, "Married to Jonas," which is in its second season on E!, according to CNN.

And Kevin and Danielle have even more exciting news: they announced in July that they are expecting their first child together, a girl. Kevin and Danielle married in 2009.

Nineteen shows had been scheduled for The Jonas Brothers, the first of which was in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, on Friday; the tour was supposed to conclude in Seattle on November 6, according to CNN.

No word on what this means for The Jonas Brothers' fifth album, which was scheduled to drop later this year.
