Oscar Pistorius Claims He Cannot Gain Access To iPhone 5 He Used During Night Of Steenkamp Murder, Apple Executives Allowed Co. Technicians To Help SA Police In Investigation

Oscar Pistorius claims during the investigation on the Reeva Steenkamp case that he cannot gain access to an iPhone 5 he was using on the night he murdered his supermodel girlfriend. He claims that he forgot the code needed to unlock the cellphone.

According to SA Breaking News, South African police was said to be seeking help from Apple in America to try and gain access to an iPhone 5. The device was found on the floor of the bathroom where the model was shot dead by his Olympian boyfriend.

“These could be crucial and Apple executives in America have made their technicians available to help us,” said Lt. Gen. Vineshkumar Moonoo, the person leading the investigation.

The iPhone along with three other items was found on the bathroom floor of Oscar’s Pretoria home early on February 14 after Pistorius had shot and killed his supermodel girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp.

In a report by SA Breaking News last June, prior to his August 19 court date appearance where the trial has been given a date, U.S. tech giant Apple was called on to help on the case.

Moono added that the mobile phones “were clearly in use up to the time of the killing.”

The position of the iPhones and the other two devices, which was said to be two Blackberries, all of which were found close to the shower cubicle could show that the couple had a furious row during which Reeva had locked herself in.

There have been no further updates on what else Apple has contributed in unlocking the iPhone for South African authorities. The iPhone issue surfaced prior to Oscar Pistorius’ August 19 court date appearance.
