Who is Jung Joon Young? On MBC's "We Got Married", Jung Joon Young shows that he is a ladies' man by skillfully handling all of the ups and downs of his fictitious relationship with partner Jung Yoo Mi. Yet when he appears on the KBS pilot program "Come See Me," he appears innocent and childlike, playing with the kids at their level. This kind of unexpected twist most accurately describes the singer Jung Joon Young.

He doesn't like to be burdened and therefore loves the freedom of rock music. Because of this, many people think that Jung Joon Young is a free spirit who cannot be controlled. This image was first shown on Mnet's "Superstar K," and it has stuck every since.

However, there is a twist - Jung Joon Young is not a happy-go-lucky free soul, instead being strict and relentless on his pursuit to be a musician. He knows what he wants to do and what he must do to be a respected musician. He knows that this side of his personality catches people by surprise, as he often quips, "I'm a harder worker than I appear to be."

When one searches Jung Joon Young's name on Naver.com, two key words appear next to his name: gaming and clubbing. His love for clubbing was apparent since his first appearance on "Superstar K". He has also stated his love of gaming multiple times. His favorite thing to do, he stated on an episode of "We're Married", is to be alone in a dark room playing games by himself.

Clubbing and gaming isn't really synonymous with hard working, but Jung Joon Young made sure to explicitly state that he doesn't allow any of that to hinder his schedule.

He states on this love of gaming, "I love games. If music is a 100 for me, than gaming is 90. When I don't have a schedule, I occupy my time completely with gaming. I just don't let it get in the way of my scheduled performances."

He stated numerously while filming "Superstar K" that the first thing that he wanted to do was to go clubbing when "Superstar K" ended, but he says that he has gone cold turkey on clubbing because of the adverse effects on his neck.

"I need to sing from morning to night and have no other time to recover than the night. I can't put my career on jeopardy because I want to get drunk for a night. There was a time on "Superstar K" that my voice became hoarse during a song because I drank the night before. I don't want to make that mistake ever again."

Jung Joon Young's always been a rocker despite the fact that rock and roll is not a popular music genre in Korea.

He's had to compete hard to win on "Superstar K", and he was free to pursue any genre of music he wanted to afterwards. He stuck with rock music.

On his love of rock music, he states, "I listen to and enjoy all kinds of music, but nothing is has charming to me as rock music. I especially love the distorted guitar sounds. I've performed in rock bands even before appearing on "Superstar K". This genre is now a part of me, and I want to succeed with this genre."

He wanted to break apart the public notion that rock music is difficult to listen to. He states, "People just assume rock music is all about noise, but I want to let them know that rock music is a perfect carrier of various sensitive emotional responses. I chose my title song as "The Sense of an Ending" for that very reason."

He states, "I don't want force it on anyone. If my listeners just open up their hearts a little bit, then I want to give them just that much to enjoy. I plan on including as many of my self-produced song as possible in my upcoming album. I want to slowly re-introduce my brand of rock to my fans."

It's been a few weeks since his first mini album was released. He stated that it was very different to see the stage as a solo artist and not a band.

On being a solo performer, he stated, "It's really amazing when you stand on that big stage all by yourself. The dream that I had as a small-time performer is realized at that point, and it gives me a desire to go on even bigger stages to connect with various audiences."

Perhaps this is the reason by Jung Joon Young states that he's never tired. His only stress is that he's not gaining enough weight.

"I'm not tired at all, and nothing phases me. I'm doing the thing that I love, how can I be tired?"

He added with a smile, "I'm planning on changing my car soon, though. It's going to be the same model but a different year. The main difference is that this new car will have a TV. If I have a TV in the car, I can play games on it. I'm going play games all day in it. I'm looking forward to using that car forever. I can't wait."
