iMac 2013 Review, Release Date: Refreshed Apple Desktop With Intel Haswell Processors, 4GB RAM & 1-3 TB Hard Drive Is A Great Computer Made Even Better

iMac 2013 review, release date: The Apple desktop, which was updated with not much fanfare last month is described by a Tech Crunch reviewer as “a great computer and makes it even better.” The under the hood improvement in the flagship desktop of the Cupertino tech giant has officially impressed many and could well satisfy the most demanding of users.

One of the new iMac 2013 has a 27-inch 2560 x 1440 display, a 3TB fusion drive, a 3.5GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor and an 8GB 1600MHz DDR3 RAM. It also has an Nvidia GeForce GTX 780M with 4GB dedicated RAM. One of the units reviewed, this one by Tech Crunch is priced at $2,699 (MSRP).

Design. The iMac 2013 design has a slimmer profile and has much needed weight savings, with the cleaner look leading to an upgraded overall aesthetic wherever the unit is placed. The new 2013 iMac has no more optical drive and the SD card slot has shifted. According to Tech Crunch, the glass display has less glare and better color rendering.

Display. In terms of display, the new iMac doesn’t have Retina-like qualities like the MacBook Air and the MacBook Pro. It has plenty of screen real estate to work with and has excellent color rendering, brightness and contrast. The sharpness and clarity of the display even if viewed from a distance makes it an effective TV substitute when streaming movies and shows.

Performance. A centerpiece upgrade in the new iMac could be found in its performance, thanks to it being upgraded to the latest Intel Haswell processors. Across all of its models, from the cheapest to the most expensive, there are improved graphic card options for the user.

The improved processor makes every activity done with the iMac lightning quick. Apple’s hybrid tehc solution also provides better performance benefits overall compared to a dedicated SSD storage.

In Tech Crunch’s test, even the iMac’s performance and speed when it comes to gaming application has been exceptional.

Overall, the new Apple desktop is one of the best all-in-one computer solution in the market. The under the hood upgrades makes this refreshed model a competitive buy for anyone interested in the desktop solution.
