Moto X Review, Specs: Design Of Motorola’s Android Powered Flagship Is Exceptional & Impressive, But Not Enough To Get Widespread Appeal

Moto X review, specs: The design of Motorola’s flagship, the Android-powered Moto X, is compact and feels great to hold. According to the Business Times, the natural feel of the Moto X is largely thanks to its ergonomically curved back. It feels even better than the HTC One, noted the Business Times.

The Moto X consists mostly of plastic and Kevlar and has a more premium feel than most Android phones in the market. The Kevlar back of the Moto X features a circular indentation adorned with the Motorola logo and has a powerful loud speaker as well. It’s soft and rounded sides makes it easy to hold with the volume and power buttons on the right, well-placed.

Overall, the Moto X is a beautiful phone and with its heavy duty material, it feels more like ceramic than the plastic found in competing Android handsets like the LG G2 and Nexus 5.

Moto X is arguably the most perfectly sized phone with its 4.7-inch screen that will make you feel that you are just holding a much smaller phone. The side bezels were completely eliminated, making the top and bottom as compact as possible; with striking balance between size, one-handed usability and pocketability. Although its screen dimension is comparable to that of the HTC One, the latter is noticeably larger.

Despite the praise the handset has received though on excellent design, the Moto X’s standing in the market has been more trending toward laggard than leader. In an earlier report, it noted that it has only sold 500,000 unit since it’s August release.

Motorola has since expanded the Moto X customizations to more carriers and released the ultra-affordable Moto G, which will soon get the Android 4.4 KitKat upgrade.
