J.D. Salinger Stories Leaked; Three Unpublished Stories Available Online

J.D. Salinger, the reclusive author of "Catcher in the Rye," has new stories available online as a small print book called "Three Stories." This is the first collection of J.D. Salinger works since 1965.

According to Buzzfeed, three previously unavailable stories by J.D. Salinger were leaked online this evening, apparently in PDF and other formats.

J.D. Salinger's "Three Stories" includes the works "Birthday Boy," "Paula" and "The Ocean Full of Bowling Balls," which is kind of a precursor to his famous work "The Catcher in the Rye." "The Ocean Full of Bowling Balls" tells the story of the death of Kenneth Caulfield, Holden Caulfield's brother. In "Catcher in the Rye," Holden's brother was named Allie.

"The Ocean Full of Bowling Balls" has soletly been available to scholars as part of a J.D. Sallinger collection at the Princeton University Library.

Besides "Catcher in the Rye" J.D. Salinger also wrote "Nine Stories" in 1953; Franny and Zooey, which also included short stories in (1961; and a volume containing two short novels: "Raise High the Roof Beam, Carpenters and Seymour: An Introduction" in 1963. J.D. Salinger's last published work was "Hapworth 16, 1924," which ran in The New Yorker on June 19, 1965.
