The much-awaited free games for Xbox Live Gold members for the month of December have already been announced.

Ardent gamers can take advantage of the free games for Xbox Live Gold members coming this December. Major Nelson of Microsoft has recently announced the two free games for Xbox Live members.

Starting tomorrow, December 1, gamers can already download the first one of the two free games for Xbox Live Gold members. The first offering this December is an original title from Epic Games, called "Gears of War."

According to Polygon, Gears of War is a third-person shooter game which was originally released on November 2006 for the Xbox 360. Originally priced at $19.99, Gears of War can be downloaded for free by the Xbox Live Gold members until December 15.

And on the 16^th, another one of the free games for Xbox Live Gold members will replace Gears of War. Xbox 360 gamers can get "Shoot Many Robots" for free from December 16-31. This action platformer game has a regular price of $9.99. It was launched in 2012 for Xbox Live Arcade, Windows PC, as well as PlayStation Network.

The free games for Xbox Live Gold members are offered under Microsoft's 'Games With Gold' program. It gives away two free games for Xbox Live Gold members every month. The first game will be released on the 1^st day of the month, and then, it will be replaced by another title during the 16^th. The games are for players to keep, and it will not be removed even after the subscription expires.

Originally, Games with Gold promotion was planned to run until the end of 2013. However, in October, Microsoft announced that the program will continue indefinitely for the Xbox Live subscribers.

Furthermore, since the Xbox One has already been released in the market, Microsoft also revealed that the Games with Gold program will also offer free Xbox One games starting in 2014.
