Samsung Galaxy S3 Update: 4.3 Jelly Bean Update Still Halted With No News On Release Of Fixed OS, Android 4.4 KitKat Rollout Schedule Leaked

Samsung Galaxy S3 update: The Android 4.3 update for the former flagship, which will amongst other features allow it to support Samsung Galaxy Gear is still halted and there’s still no official news on when the fixed update will arrive.

According to Geeky-Gadgets.com, some of the issues users were reporting include random freezing of the handset, Bluetooth audio issues, battery drain, the device freezing on incoming calls, and spotty connection with Wi-Fi.

Sam Mobile, in a November 18 report, posted the following official statement from Samsung Mobile UK regarding the pulled update:

“As we are currently investigating the reported issues with Galaxy S3 4.3 Jelly Bean update, the upgrading service has been temporarily suspended. We are committed to providing customers with the best possible mobile experience, and will ensure to resume the upgrading service at the earliest possibility.”

In a news by Tottenham News, it posted a document with the Samsung letterhead showing an Android 4.4 KitKat update schedule for the Samsung Galaxy S4, Note 3, S3 and Note 2. Based n the document, it showed that the S3 model no. GT-19300 will receive the newest OS by Google between March-April 2014.

There has been no confirmation from Samsung or other tech influencers on the authenticity of the leaked document.

Amazon in it’s Cyber Monday Deal Week specials offers prospective S3 users the chance to avail the old but still powerful handset for a mere penny when they sign a two-year contract. Sprint, Verizon and AT&T offer the white and blue Galaxy S3 models, while Sprint also sells a purple version and Verizon the black variant.

According to Android Geeks, the off-contract and unlocked price of Samsung Galaxy S3 starts at $499.99 for the AT&T white and blue version.
