‘Parks And Recreation’ Season 6: ‘New Path And New Direction’ After Rashida Jones, Rob Lowe Exit, Creator Says

"Parks and Recreation" season 6 has returned from its winter hiatus with its 100th episode, but where will "Parks and Recreation" season 6 go after Rashida Jones and Rob Lowe leave the show?

"Parks and Recreation" season 6 will soon say goodbye to Rashida Jones and Rob Lowe, who play Ann Perkins and Chris Traeger on the NBC comedy. "Parks and Rec" creator Mike Schur recently opened up about where the show will go after their exit in episode 13.

"It's been a slow build, and episode 13 is the gigantic, explosive farewell," Schur told the Hollywood Reporter. "It will have been set up for almost half a year. We didn't want to have an episode 12 like, "Hey, I got a job offer. Let's leave Pawnee," and suddenly they disappear. We want to give them a properly dramatic and formal send-off."

Schur also revealed how "Parks and Recreation" will change after Jones and Lowe are no longer on the cast.

"It's a lot less good-looking. That's the main thing. We're losing Leslie's best friend, we're losing a lot of comic energy and we're losing a relationship that has come a very long way over the course of the series. We had to figure out a way to replace that energy. Hopefully this show will feel like it has a new path and new direction. It's very sad. I've been editing the last few episodes and they're both really talented people," he told TVGuide.

Meanwhile, Schur also gave a teaser to the Hollywood Reporter about how he would eventually like the series to end.

"I always imagined the perfect ending to the series -- and I hope it's not for a while -- would be a casual piece of B-roll where Leslie is walking through a building in Washington, D.C., and passes Hillary Clinton, and Hillary Clinton says, 'Leslie.' Leslie says, 'Secretary Clinton,' and keeps walking," Schur mused.

"Parks and Recreation" season 6, episode 13 will air in February. Catch all the funniness on Thursdays at 8:30/7:30c on NBC.
