Upcoming Sony Tablets 2014: Xperia Z Ultra Rumored To Get Wi-Fi Only Edition As Device Gets Leaked In Benchmark And FCC, Would Cost Much Less

In case you are looking for upcoming Sony tablets in 2014 you may be disappointed that the Japanese manufacturer has yet to make any announcements. The closest Sony has gone near a tablet is the Xperia Z Ultra phablet which was released alongside the Z1 (Honami) during last year's IFA event.

However, a report tells us that a Wi-Fi only version might already been in the works.

According to GSM Arena, the popular AnTuTu benchmarking app has recently seen shown the upcoming Android tablet on its database. That is also the case in an FCC filing, which means the Xperia Z Ultra device might come closer than we would expect.

In the report, the Sony tablet still packs the same Snapdragon 800 chipset and probably most of its specs, but dishes out mobile and LTE connectivity, leaving only Wi-Fi support.

In spite this supposed change, the Sony Xperia Z Ultra is still one of the best in the industry with its 6.44" Triluminous display with 1920 x 1080 resolution, 2.1GHz CPU, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory.

If this rumored tablet would actually be launched, it is claimed to be cost less expensive than the one that has mobile connectivity.

Let us just wait and see until we officially lay our eyes on the Wi-Fi only Sony Xperia Z Ultra.
