There are not so many upcoming Sony phones in 2014, though the manufacturer is not really known for releasing a lot of devices every year. However, in case you are a Windows Phone fan, then you may want to actually wait for this rumored Sony handset. 

In a report from GSM Arena, Sony and Microsoft may have finally come into an agreement and develop a WP-powered smartphone, the first in Sony's lineup of devices. And it will allegedly come under the Vaio branding, which is from the Japanese manufacturer's lineup of Windows-powered laptops. 

And due to the limited customization options of the Windows Phone OS, the report says most of the phone's features would rely on Sony's own services. 

While this rumor is certainly promising, the report immediately kills the fire even before it spreads. In the report, GSM Arena reported that its source has immediately retracted its story, which means the two tech giants may still be undergoing negotiations as of writing. 

Neverthless, it would certainly be refreshing to see another world-class brand develop a Windows Phone-powered handset.
