Xbox One Games List 2014: Dead Rising 3 Best Zombie Game? Kotaku Lists Most Popular Next-Generation Games

Kotaku listed Dead Rising 3 as one of Xbox One's best games, leaving many wondering if it will be the next-generation console's best zombie-related game.

"It'd be easy to dismiss the zombie horde-simulator Dead Rising 3 as a simple case of quantity over quality. Happily, despite the undeniably impressive hordes of the undead the game regularly throws on screen, Dead Rising 3 is as mechanically refined as the series has ever been. It's set in the walled-off sandbox of Los Perdidos, a thinly veiled Los Angeles stand-in that has become overrun with the undead," the website writes.

"The gameworld isn't as big as you might expect, but it compensates for its stature with a welcome variety and verticality that makes it easy to spend hours just exploring. Dead Rising 3 is at its considerable best when arming you one of its hundreds of craftable weapons and tasking you with making your way through a horde of slow-moving shamblers, sort of like the world's best limb-lopping football running back. It rarely, if ever, gets old."

PlayStation 4 sold 4.2 million units through the end of 2013 which is approximately 1 million more than its competitor Xbox One, CNN reports, leaving many wondering if the Sony next-generation console has a better games list.

Halo 5 and Metal Gear Solid 5 have been confirmed for Xbox One's 2014 games list, leaving many gamers wondering if the two RPG titles will be the top games for the next-generation console.

Earlier this week, fans went wild after Halo 5 was excluded from Xbox One's 2014 games list because a complete name for the game has not been finalized.

"Xbox Wire today mentioned a few 2014 titles; Halo on Xbox One not listed due to official name of the next title not announced yet," Halo PR Manager Rob Semsey wrote on Twitter.

"Rest assured your next Halo journey WILL begin in 2014. #staycalm."

Square Enix's Metal Gear Solid 5 Ground Zeroes is rumored to be one of Xbox One's most popular games, according to the New York Daily News.

"All eyes are on the new Metal Gear: Ground Zeroes game," the website writes.

Microsoft has released a list of confirmed Xbox One titles for 2014 and it did not include Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto 5.

The news comes just as Rockstar Games made a statement regarding the development of its next-generation console versions.

The developer responded to a question asked by a gamer on Twitter mentioning they have not announced intentions of bringing Grand Theft Auto 5 to next-generation consoles Playstation 4 and Xbox One.

"Unfortunately, we have not released any information about that," Rockstar Games said in a response on Twitter.
